CAP OC Receives $10,000 Spectrum Grant

Community Action Partnership Orange County (CAP OC), a nonprofit that seeks to end poverty by stabilizing, sustaining and empowering its community through various programs and services, received a donation from Spectrum in the amount of $10,000. The donation is through Spectrum’s community philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants, part of a $1 million programming commitment through year-end 2021.

The $10,000 grant was presented at CAP OC’s Anaheim Independencia Family Resource Center on June 26. This funding will allow CAP OC to provide more meals, diapers, rental assistance and more to support low-income families and individuals in need. Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu participated in the celebration with CAP OC staff and Spectrum executives.

“On behalf of Community Action Partnership of Orange County, I’d like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the $10,000 grant from Spectrum,” said Gregory C. Scott, President & CEO of Community Action Partnership of Orange County. “The pandemic has had an immense impact on families and individuals in our community that we’ve had to modify our operations to meet the increased need. Thank you Spectrum for helping us to stabilize, sustain and empower people with resources as needed.”

CAP OC Board Chair and Spectrum employee, Alicia Berhow, nominated Community Action Partnership of Orange County for the grant.

“I’ve been an advocate of Community Action Partnership of Orange County for many years and know first-hand the important work they do for our residents as they faced challenges during the pandemic,” said Berhow. “I’m honored to have been selected as a recipient of this grant and look forward to seeing all the benefits it will provide for our local families in need.”

“These are the brightest days in Anaheim’s recovery, but we know families still need help,” said Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu. “CAP OC has worked with us to bring help to our neighborhoods. This community grant will mean even more assistance to those getting back on their feet. This funding has the potential to change lives.”

Spectrum Employee Community Grants has provided funding to more than 250 local nonprofits in 30 states throughout the company’s service area since its inception in July 2019.
