ADDRESSING THE

IMMEDIATE NEED

URGENTLY MEETING THE NEED NOW

By serving people in crisis, we provide the solutions they need to survive. CAP OC reaches out with practical tools and resources that cover basic needs like food and rental assistance, as well as homelessness prevention. Only when people survive, can they thrive.

HOW WE ADDRESS THE NEED

ECIP (EMERGENCY CRISIS INTERVENTION PROGRAM)

This program repairs/replaces heating and cooling (HVAC) systems as well as water heating appliances for Vulnerable Populations in emergency cases. Vulnerable Populations include households with seniors over 60 years of age, children under 5 years old, disabled household members or any household members with a medical condition who require temperature or climate control. Clients must meet income and dwelling eligibility to prove they lack funds to do the repair or replacement themselves. The ECIP program is to mitigate and completely resolve the emergency that arises during the respective season (e.g. furnace in winter and air conditioning in summer).

To see if you are eligible for emergency weatherization assistance, please email energy@capoc.org.

We are all so thankful for CAP OC and the OC Food Bank. The other day, a woman and her son came in for a meal. Upon receiving food, the boy looked up to his mom and exclaimed, ‘Mommy, we have food!’ and his mom smiled and said, ‘I know son, we get to eat today.’ It made me wonder if he hadn’t eaten since yesterday, or how many more of those “todays” there have been. Your donated foods are a such a blessing; more than some really know.”
