THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TEFAP)
TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of lowincome Americans by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. USDA provides 100% American – growth USDA Foods and administrative funds to states to operate TEFAP.
TEFAP offers more than 120 nutritious foods, including dried beans, canned frozen, fresh & dried fruits, canned & frozen vegetables, fruit/vegetable juice, eggs, meat (when available), poultry, fish, nuts, milk and cheese, and whole-grain and enriched grain products, including rice, cereal, and pasta.
