Did you know that barriers to employment is often a key issue for families and individuals trying to exit poverty? In Orange County, there is strong economic growth and a low unemployment rate, but beneath the surface is growing inequality among its residents. One in 6 children suffer from hunger. To afford a median-priced, one-bedroom rental unit, an hourly wage of $27.62 is needed; yet 68% of Orange County jobs pay below that (2018 Orange County Community Indicators Report) and underemployment is prevalent.
CAP OC is excited to participate in this annual giving day to benefit the workforce development skills of our Orange County neighbors. Help us reach our $10,000 goal towards workforce development initiatives. Your donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, thanks to our matching sponsor, Lending Enterprise.
