As American Heart Month comes to an end, the CalFresh Healthy Living program would like to remind you that in addition to increasing your fruit and vegetable intake, it’s important to take some time to get active through physical activity! In the month of February, CalFresh Healthy Living partnered with Anaheim Achieves, an after-school program, to bring nutrition and physical activity information to elementary-aged youth. They learned about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables every day and participated in exercises such as jumping jacks, arm circles, lunges, and much more! Besides these activities, there are plenty of ways to get physical activity including dancing, gardening, biking, swimming, and walking. The most important thing about physical activity is that you find an activity that you enjoy and works for your lifestyle.
