Moving into my new apartment has been life-changing. It’s a bigger unit—quiet, clean, and comfortable. It’s a place I can call home. I can go to work and come back to a safe environment. It gave me a foundation. I no longer have to worry about where I’ll sleep.

We are all so thankful for CAP OC and the OC Food Bank. The other day, a parent and her son came in for a meal. Upon receiving food, the boy looked up to his mom and exclaimed, ‘Mommy, we have food!’ and his mom smiled and said, ‘I know son, we get to eat today.’ It made me wonder if he hadn’t eaten since yesterday, or how many more of those “todays” there have been. Your donated foods are a such a blessing; more than some really know.

I never knew how much I could change just by being more aware of my finances. I feel so much more in control now.

Partnering with CAP OC has had a profound impact on the Marshallese community through the food distribution program. Since we began, we’ve seen a significant reduction in food insecurity, with families gaining consistent access to nutritious food, ensuring they no longer have to choose between meals and basic needs. The appropriate food items and clear communication have made the distribution process seamless and efficient, ensuring maximum benefit to our clients. Most importantly, this partnership has fostered a sense of security and empowerment within the Marshallese community, as they know they have a supportive and compassionate ally in CAP OC. This ongoing collaboration has not only addressed immediate needs but will also help strengthen the community’s resilience, providing a solid foundation for long-term stability and well-being.

Thank you for taking the time to show me how to read a label. I have never paid attention of the number of calories, sugar and sodium that is in the products I buy. I have diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I have learned many important facts about the strategies that are used by companies to entice us to buy the products by the way they look. I will start to read the product information and not only buy a product by its graphics and design

Our collaboration with the OC Food Bank makes a significant impact in the lives of our clients. The working poor families we serve do not have food security and may even be on the brink of homelessness. Our ability to access much needed food through the TEFAP program results in families being able to nourish their children and face the challenges life throws at them with more energy and hope.
